Who We Are
Facts about cartridge waste and why we should remanufacture our cartridges.
  • Industry analysts estimate a spent cartridge can be remanufactured between 3 to 7 times. This means that every cartridge that we can remanufacture is one fewer going directly to the landfill.
  • Individuals and businesses alike are gaining confidence in remanufacturing as now, 20-30% of all cartridges sold worldwide are remanufactured.
  • More than 1.1 billion inkjet cartridges are used annually around the world - laid end to end this would be 129 times as long as the Great Wall of China.
  • Approximately 3.5 litres of oil are required to produce each new laser printer cartridge and 90 ml of oil is used to produce each inkjet cartridge. That means that reusing either type of cartridge is lowering our use of oil.
  • Each discarded empty laser printer cartridge adds approximately three pounds of waste to our landfills.
  • The plastic used in a typical cartridge is made of engineering grade polymers and take up to 1000 years to decompose.
  • If the empty cartridges people throw away each year were stacked end-to-end, they would be able to circle the earth – that’s over 23,860 miles!
  • 70 percent of used printer cartridges throughout the world are currently being thrown out.

    Environmentally Friendly:
Having your original inkjet cartridges refilled is good for the environment. Each year, millions of empty cartridges are thrown into our landfills where the plastic can take hundreds of years to decompose. Most cartridges can be refilled several times so you can help make a difference. Refilling is an ecologically sound practice.

    Savings/Economy:
The price of a refilled inkjet cartridge is drastically less than a new cartridge with savings typically between 40 to 60% and more compared to a new cartridge.

    Quality Ink:
At Cartouches Encore we never use universal inks. The physical properties of liquid ink used in inkjet cartridges varies greatly from company to company and even from one cartridge to another made by the same manufacturer. For example, the inks used in an HP #75 colour cartridge are different from those used in an HP #57 colour cartridge. That is why we carry a large inventory of different inks specifically formulated for each cartridge to assure that you receive best quality results.

    Test Printing:
We have large number of test printers in the store. This allows us to test many of the most popular cartridges to be sure that you get the excellent quality you deserve.

    Our 100% quality guarantee:
We are confident that you will be delighted with the results of your refilled cartridge. If you encounter any problems or are dissatisfied with the results simply return the cartridge within 90 days of purchase. We will either fix any problem or credit the full amount against the purchase of a new cartridge.
